What is Jira Assistant?

Jira Assistant (Jira Assist or JA in short) is a free and open-source tool which helps Jira users to track work done on timely basis and generate various reports. It is developed in 2016 and is absolutely free for both personal and commercial use. Jira Assistant is available as a browser extension for all major browsers (like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera), available as Jira App for Jira Cloud users and is also hosted as static web app. Installation or configuration of this tool does not require any Jira Admin privileges. You can easily install, integrate with Jira and start using it in less than a minute.

    Rename dashboard and change icon

    Clicking on the title in Dashboard lets you to change the name of the dashboard and change its icon as well.

    Custom gadgets

    You can use custom reports or report builder and create a report which can be added as gadget in Dashboard

    Dashboard: Switch between grid or tabbed layout

    You can change the layout of gadgets in dashboard to customize the look and feel.

    Copy or move worklog with drag and drop

    In calendar module, you can copy the worklog by pressing Alt key and just drag and drop the worklog.

    Use dashboard as quick view

    You can view the dashboard as popover in browser just by clicking the JA icon. You can set any dashboard as quick view and enable quick view in settings.

    Bulk import issues: Multi project or parent ticket mapping

    While creating sub-tasks using bulk import, you can have ',' separated parent tickets to create same sub-task under multiple tickets. Same logic can be applied for same ticket creation under multiple projects.

    Worklog report: query based filtering

    Tickets pulled for worklog report can be further filtered based on custom query like based on a particular project or issue types, etc..
