Jira Assistant License Agreement and Terms of Use

This License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal contract entered into between you ("You") and the developer of Jira Assistant ("Developer"). Your use of the Jira Assistant software ("Software") is subject to the terms and conditions outlined below:

Grant of License

The Developer grants You a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to use the Software for personal or commercial purposes. You're permitted to modify the Software's source code for internal use only, without the right to distribute any modified versions of the Software.

Restrictions

You are explicitly prohibited from:

Modifying, adapting, translating, or creating derivative works for distribution based on the Software.
Selling, renting, leasing, sublicensing, or transferring rights to the Software to any third party.
Using the Software in any manner that could potentially damage the Developer or compromise the integrity of the Software.

Source Code Modifications

You're authorized to modify the Software's source code for personal or internal organizational use exclusively. However, distributing any modified versions is strictly forbidden. The altered code should not be shared, sold, or disseminated to any third party.

Warranty and Disclaimer

The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The Developer shall not be held responsible for any loss incurred due to the use or misuse of the Software. This includes but is not limited to any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use or the inability to use the Software.

Limitation of Liability

The Developer and its affiliates shall not be held liable for any special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the Software. This limitation stands even if the Developer was made aware of the potential for such damages.

Termination

This Agreement remains effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will automatically terminate without notice from the Developer if you fail to comply with any term(s) of this Agreement.

Governing Law

This Agreement is to be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your jurisdiction]. Any disputes arising from this Agreement are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in [Your jurisdiction].

By using the Software, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined in this Agreement.

Latest updates

27-Nov-2023 - Change in permissions for JA

In upcoming version (v2.58) of JA, by default, permission to access Cloud instance of Jira would be added. This would let the users to integrate with Cloud instance of Jira without prompting for permission at the time of integration. Hence for Chrome users, once the extension gets updated, it would get disabled due to change in permission. You can enable it again from Extensions page. However, for Firefox and Edge, extension already have access to all the sites (though it doesn't really need) which would be narrowed down only to atlassian.net which would be a security improvement.

03-Jan-2023 - Auto update would take time

Jira Assistant is now updated in phased basis to avoid any breaking changes impacting all users. So it may take long time before your extension gets updated. If you want to manually update it immediately, just navigate to "chrome://extensions", turn on "Developer mode" from top right corner and click Update button. Then you can turn off dev mode.

20-Dec-2022 - Available as App for Jira Cloud

Jira Assistant can now be installed within your Jira Cloud as an App. Once installed, this would be available for all your Jira users. Visit https://www.jiraassistant.com to know more.

26-Jul-2022 - Introducing JA Web

You can visit https://app.jiraassistant.com to use or test upcoming features of Jira Assistant. Contribute in testing JA by switching to Web Version. All the fixes and new feature updates would be immediately available in Web version of JA. Later, stable updates would be pushed to Extensions.
